The Deputy of the National Assembly for the state of Nueva Esparta, Orlando Ávila, expressed solidarity with the public employees of this state due to the low salary they earn in government institutions.
“I sympathize with the Public Employees Union in the state, 70% of these workers earn less than $ 2 a month, that means that they do not have enough for transportation and even less for food, because not even one day of the food basket can be covered,” said Dep. Avila in statements to Radio AN.
On the other hand, the parliamentarian rejected that Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship forces public employees to receive their salary through the so-called ‘Carnet de la Patria”, a social and political control platform.
“Here, on the island, those miserable salaries are felt more deeply because of the unique problems we have due to our insularity, the shipment fares for freight and the food and services that come in,” he said.
Finally, Mr. Ávila classified as a chaotic situation the reality faced by public workers in Venezuela on a daily basis.
