Deputy Prosperi: “They cannot have a white vote in the electoral farce”

“You cannot have a blank (empty) vote in the electoral farce,” said Carlos Prosperi, secretary of the National Organization for Democratic Action (AD), during a massive walk in Maracay, Aragua state.

From this city in Aragua, where he concluded a tour that took him to San Fernando de Apure and Calabozo, Guárico state, Prosperi stressed that you cannot vote in a process that does not have electoral guarantees.

“It is not that we adecos (AD party) are abstentionists. We believe in the electoral exercise, but we cannot allow the Constitution to continue to be trampled on,” he specified.

For his part, José Trujillo, general secretary of the Aragua Sectional Executive Committee, assured that the event prepared by those in Miraflores “is a sung fraud.” (called before hand)

“AD is not going to participate in this fraud because no one there is going to choose anything. We have been in this fight for freedom and democracy for more than 20 years and we know that this farce is not the route,” he said.

A ‘snarled’ card

Piero Maroun, head of the Parliamentary Fraction of Acción Democrática (AD), clarified that the party, led by the National Secretary General, Henry Ramos Allup, “will not participate in the fraud of December 6th.”

“The card that appears with AD printed on the card is not the party’s legitimate card, it is a card that is snarled,” he clarified.

In this sense, Edgar Zambrano, vice president of the the party, added: “Participating in this farce would be equivalent to telling those who usurp power that we agree with not having gasoline, gas, or food, that we agree with not having living conditions”.

Together for the Popular Consultation

The national leaders of the people’s party ratified the call for the Popular Consultation promoted by the interim president, Juan Guaidó, and backed by the Unity parties.

They stressed that this is a right established in article 70 of the Constitution that is binding.

“We have a commitment with our militancy and with the Venezuelan people. We have to go out to the streets and support the popular consultation so that the world sees Venezuelans rejecting the electoral farce.” Prosperi emphasized.
