The political organization, Voluntad Popular denounced this Saturday the kidnapping of the coordinator in the State of Guarico, Yovanny Salazar, by officials at the service of Nicolas Maduro’s dictatorship.
The VP party warned that the regime also kidnapped Salazar’s son and intended to “mount a pot” (fabricate evidence) and accuse the political leader of aggravated extortion, with the aim of him not being counted as a new political prisoner of the dictatorship.
From Voluntad Popular we denounce the kidnapping of our coordinator in the Guarico State, Yovanny Salazar, by officials of the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnap Command (CONAS) in Valle de la Pascua. We alert the international community and hold Nicolás Maduro responsible for his physical integrity.
We denounce that for weeks he has been followed in cars and with drones, after José Vásquez, governor the State, accused him of generating acts of violence in the town of Santa María de Ipire without any evidence, in another example of the systematic violation of human rights.
We warn that they want to mount a pot (fabricate evidence) against Yovanny Salazar by accusing him of aggravated extortion, to prevent him from being catalogued as just another political prisoner of the regime. It is clear that this is part of the systematic persecution against the political leadership. They want to cover it up by accusing our brother Yovanny of a common crime, when the world knows that the security forces, the prosecutors of the Public Ministry and the judges are at the service of the regime.
We also denounce that the regime is holding Modesto Salazar, Yovanny’s son, who was forced to hand over his phone. This is another example of the fear that the dictatorship has of those who think differently.
Our brother Yovanny Salazar is a man of clear convictions and unquestionable values who has fought to build a better Guarico. He has been with his people, always denouncing the bad policies of the usurpers of the entity.
We warn that the regime’s siege against our political organization continues. We have been kidnapped, tortured, subjected to cruel treatment, our activists and leaders have been murdered, and yet we remain firm in the struggle for Venezuela’s freedom.
We alert the free and democratic world about this new attack by the regime and we demand that our brother Yovanny Salazar be immediately released because he has not committed any crime.
